On 7 May, the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs organized another awareness-raising event at the Baku State Vocational Education Centre for Culture and Crafts in the Buzovna settlement.

The event was attended by G. Safarova, Chairperson of the “Family World: Legal Assistance to Families” Public Union.

Addressing the participants, a representative of the Main Department provided comprehensive information on the legislative framework and preventive mechanisms for combating trafficking in human beings and highlighted the measures implemented by the relevant state authorities in this field.

Participants were informed that effective efforts to combat trafficking in human beings depend not only on legal mechanisms, but also on the awareness, active engagement, and joint efforts of every member of society.

In her speech, G. Safarova noted that, as in many countries around the world, cases involving trafficking in human beings, inducement to prostitution, exploitation, fraudulent high-paying job offers, and other illegal activities are encountered through digital platforms in Azerbaijan. She called on students to remain vigilant and exercise caution against such risks.

At the conclusion of the event, participants’ questions were answered in detail.
