Strasbourg hosted next meeting with joint organization of Council of Europe and OSCE

Strasbourg city of France hosted next meeting of National coordinators, National reporters on Combating Human Trafficking and persons acting on mechanisms equal to those of member countries of the Council of Europe and Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe with joint organization of these bodies on September 11-12.

It was emphasized that purpose of the event was strengthening ties and conducting exchange of experience, as well as actuality of the discussed issues was noted.

A representative of Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the meeting in online form, which was held in hybrid format.

The meeting was also attended by Petya Nestorova, Executive Secretary of the Council of Europe's Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA), Kari Johnstone, the OSCE Special Representative and Co-ordinator for Combating Human Trafficking, Diane

Schmitt, EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator, OSCE former Chairman S. Mykkanen, President of Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe Francesca Camilleri besides representatives of the member states.

In the first session held on the first day, the topics of “Involving the private sector in combating human trafficking” were discussed, in the second session “The impact of crisis-related provisions in National Action Plans on the combating human trafficking”, and in the third session held the following day, “The transition between drug-related crimes and human trafficking” were discussed and speeches were heard.

The sessions continued with panel discussions.
