A large-scale awareness raising event against human trafficking has been held in Child and Family Support Center in Ismayilli district within the framework of the project titled “Voice of victims” implemented by the “21st Century Women” Public Union with financial support of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Main purpose of the event is to inform people involved in combating human trafficking, determine risky groups in time and provide legal and psychological support opportunity to potential victims.

Participants have thoroughly been informed during speeches about current forms of human trafficking, international and local legislation, preventive measures, functions of law-enforcement bodies and role of citizens. At the same time, defense mechanisms, existing opportunities for rehabilitation and reintegration of human trafficking victims have been brought to attention. Participants have addressed their questions on the topic at the event, which continued in a form of discussion, experts provided practical advice. The event has also been assessed as an important step in the region from the point of increasing public sensitivity against human trafficking view.
