As part of its ongoing efforts, the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs organized an awareness-raising event in Lerik district on 25 July 2025.

The event, held under the theme “Voice of the Victims,” brought together representatives of the Lerik District Executive Power, the “Women of the 21^st Century” Public Union and local community members.

Officers from the Main Department and the Lerik District Police Department provided participants with detailed information on the key directions and legal framework of anti-trafficking activities in the Republic of Azerbaijan, various forms of human trafficking, relevant international and domestic legislation, preventive measures, the role of law enforcement and citizens in combating trafficking, and protection mechanisms for victims, including available rehabilitation and reintegration opportunities.

The event highlighted the importance of raising public awareness, timely identification of at-risk groups, and informing potential victims about available legal and psychological support.

Interactive discussions were conducted, participants’ questions were addressed in detail, and informational brochures on combating human trafficking were distributed at the conclusion of the event.
