Representative of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Participates in High-Level Conference in Malta

A representative from the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the high-level conference titled “Empowering Change: Technology and Artificial Intelligence in the Fight Against Human Trafficking”, held on 10–11 June 2025 in Rabat, Malta.

The conference was jointly organized by the Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) and the Office of the Prime Minister of Malta.

The event brought together high-level officials and experts, including the Head of the Council of Europe’s Anti-Trafficking Division, directors of anti-trafficking agencies from Council of Europe member states, the OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, the UN Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons, and the Director General of the Council of Europe’s Directorate of Human Rights and Rule of Law.

Discussions at the conference focused on innovative technologies in combating human trafficking, including sessions on: “Innovative Technologies in Combating Human Trafficking: Challenges and Opportunities” , “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Prevention and Protection: Human Rights Implications” , “Transmission and Security of Electronic Evidence in Human Trafficking Cases”
