Educational Events in Lankaran and Lerik on the Topic "Nature, Forms, Dangers of Human Trafficking and Combating Human Trafficking" May 16-18, 2024

From May 16-18, 2024, an awareness event was organized in the cities of Lankaran and Lerik on the topic "The Nature, Forms, Dangers of Human Trafficking and Combating Human Trafficking," in accordance with Articles 11.2.6 and 11.2.9 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Combating Human Trafficking," the Joint Action Plan of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Education, and Order No. А8-017-19 of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs dated May 8, 2019.

Vamig Namendzade, a representative from the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Shamsaddin Aliyev, Chairman of the "Support to Police" Public Union, participated in the events as trainers. The events were organized at the Foreign Language Gymnasium in Lankaran, the Special Boarding School for Children with Disabilities, and the Integrated Training Boarding Gymnasium named after V. Ibrahimov in Lerik. More than 300 teachers and students participated in these events. Participants were informed about the main directions and normative legal basis of the fight against human trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the forms and methods of exploitation of people, prevention of human trafficking, legal and organizational foundations of combating human trafficking, and the legal status, protection, and assistance for victims of human trafficking. Additionally, an educational lecture on the dangers of human trafficking and protection against this crime was delivered, and discussions were held with the participants in the relevant field.

Extensive and detailed information on the topic was provided to the audience. Educational booklets were distributed, and numerous questions asked by the participants were answered in detail.
