An educational event was conducted in accordance with subsections 4.7.1 and 4.7.2 of the action plan for the implementation of the "National Action Plan on Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2024." This event was jointly organized by the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan for representatives of the tourism industry in Guba and Lankaran on May 20-22, 2024.

Vamig Namandzade and Mahir Israfilov, representatives from the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, delivered a presentation on "Legislation, Coordination of Efforts in Combating Human Trafficking, and National Action Plans in This Field" to representatives from over 100 hotels and tourism agencies.

During the training, participants were educated on the authority of the criminal prosecution body for combating human trafficking, particularly the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its structural institutions, their joint and mutual activities, the implementation mechanisms of preventive and protective measures in the relevant field, and the tasks ahead along with possible solutions. Many questions were addressed during the session.

At the end of the event, both organizers and participants expressed a desire for such events to be held more frequently.
