From April 21-27, 2024, a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan visited Azerbaijan as part of a project implemented by the International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan. The purpose of the visit was to gather information about Azerbaijan's efforts in migration, border management, combating human trafficking, and preventing the smuggling of migrants.
On April 24, 2024, a meeting was held with the delegation led by Chaudry Adnan Arshad Aulakh, Secretary of the Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The meeting was attended by Hazi Aslanov, a Police Major General and the Head of the Main Department of Combating Human Trafficking, and Samir Zeynalov, a Police Colonel and the Deputy Chief of the Main Department, along with division heads of the Main Department and a representative from the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In his opening speech, Hazi Aslanov provided extensive information on Azerbaijan's efforts in combating human trafficking, as well as the structure and activities of the Main Department.
Following the meeting, the delegation, accompanied by representatives of the Main Department of Combating Human Trafficking, visited the "Hotline" service for victims and potential victims of human trafficking, as well as the Shelter for victims of human trafficking. They were introduced to the activities and the results achieved.
