Tarana Ismayilova deceived Azerbaijani women and exploited their vulnerabilities. She forced these women through threats and committed illegal actions with documents to take them abroad for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
An investigation was conducted by the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding these allegations. A criminal case was initiated under Articles 144-1 (human trafficking) and 144-3 (illegal actions with documents for the purpose of human trafficking) of the Criminal Code. The circumstances of the case were investigated thoroughly and sent to the Baku Grave Crimes Court. By the decision of the court, Tarana Ismayilova's actions were proven, and she was sentenced to 8 years and 3 months in prison.
