From June 19 to 21, a training for non-governmental organizations and members of civil society on combating human trafficking was held at the Park Inn Radisson hotel in Baku, organized by The International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) with financial support from the European Union.
Ramil Kazimov, head of the division of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Mahir Israfilov, the operations commissioner, participated in the training.
On the first day of the training, Ramil Kazimov informed the event participants about the efforts to combat human trafficking in Azerbaijan.
On the subsequent days, Hugo Monteiro, an adviser of the Immigration and Border Service of Portugal and an international expert, shared his country's experience in this field. Local experts from the coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Azerbaijan trained 15 NGO representatives on the national strategies for combating human trafficking.
