On May 16, a meeting was held at the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a delegation led by Oleg Silvestrovich, head of the Main Department on Combating Drugs and Trafficking in Human Beings of the Criminal Militia of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
Several representatives of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs participated in the meeting. This included Deputy Chief, Police Colonel Samir Zeynalov; Head of Division, Police Colonel Samir Garayev; Chief Operations Commissioner for Special Important Cases, Police Lieutenant Colonel Elshad Mammadli; Chief Operations Commissioner Ruslan Aliyev; and Rovshan Janbakhishov, representative of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Belarusian delegation included Oleg Silvestrovich, Head of the Main Department on Combating Drugs and Trafficking in Human Beings of the Criminal Militia of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus; Andrey Kudristkiy, Deputy Head of this department; Sergey Belushko, Head of the Department on Combating Drugs and Trafficking in Human Beings of the Criminal Militia of the Internal Affairs Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee; and Pavel Prokhorov, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
During the meeting, Deputy Chief Samir Zeynalov briefed the guests on the Republic of Azerbaijan's strategy for combating human trafficking. He discussed key issues such as the improvement of the normative legal framework and institutional mechanisms, preventive measures to combat human trafficking, and the criminal prosecution of offenders. Additionally, extensive information was provided on the social rehabilitation and protection of trafficking victims, enhancements in assistance and protection for children who are victims, suspected victims, or potential victims of human trafficking, as well as other related measures. He also elaborated on the development of cooperation, training for authorized representatives, and awareness measures.
