06.05.2023

From May 3 to 5, the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Education and the NGO Coalition to Combat Human Trafficking, conducted educational events in Ganja and Shamkir under the name "Nature, Forms, Dangers of Human Trafficking and Combating Human Trafficking."
The educational sessions took place at the State Vocational Education Centers for Industry and Technologies and Trade and Service in Ganja, and at the Shamkir Vocational High School, involving over 600 students and educators.
Vamig Namendzade, Chief Operations Commissioner of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, served as a trainer during the event. Participants received comprehensive information on the nature and forms of human trafficking, victim identification methods, first aid and support services available to potential victims, the "Hotline," and other strategies for identifying victims. Educational booklets were distributed among the attendees.
The awareness event also addressed essential information for individuals planning to travel abroad or coming to Azerbaijan to prevent them from falling victim to human trafficking. Attendees were briefed on relevant institutions to contact in case of such situations, necessary documentation requirements, and precautions to be taken by individuals migrating abroad for marriage or education.
The training sessions garnered significant interest, with participants actively engaging and raising numerous inquiries.
