The Work Done Was Discussed

An interim review meeting of the "National Action Plan on Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020─2024" was held on October 4 at the Hyatt Regency Baku hotel, organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan.

The meeting was attended by a delegation led by Police Major General Hazi Aslanov, head of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Other participants included representatives of various state institutions and civil society, Michael Nehrbass, director of the US Agency for International Development mission in Azerbaijan, Vladimir Georgiev, head of the IOM representative office in Azerbaijan, and Brett Dvorak, political adviser of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan.

Police Major General Hazi Aslanov made the opening speech, welcoming the guests on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and expressing gratitude for the invitation and cooperation. The meeting featured discussions on successes in preventing human trafficking, protecting victims, including children, and providing assistance and reintegration for victims. Representatives from the Main Department, state institutions, the Ombudsman Office, and civil society addressed the challenges and prospects for the next two years.

The meeting was conducted in a professional and cordial manner. At its conclusion, participants' questions were addressed.
