Visit of Azerbaijani Delegation to Uzbekistan

At the initiative of the International Organization for Migration's office in Azerbaijan, a delegation visited Uzbekistan from July 27 to August 4 to study inter-agency coordination models within the framework of the “Counter-Trafficking in Persons Activity” project.

Police Colonel Samir Garayev, Head of the Division of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Elshad Mammadli, Chief Operations Commissioner for Special Important Cases, were part of the delegation. Other participants included Nizami Guliyev from the State Migration Service, Sara Aghayeva from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, as well as chairwomen of non-governmental organizations Mehriban Zeynalova, Kamala Aghazade, Kubra Alakbarova, Sudaba Mammadova, and Gunel Aliyeva.

During this visit, aimed at knowledge exchange, the Azerbaijani delegation visited various institutions in Uzbekistan, including the Uzbekistan delegation of the International Organization for Migration in Tashkent and Bukhara, the National Center for Human Rights, and the Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Additionally, they conducted meetings at the Rehabilitation Center for Human Trafficking Victims, the Monocenter "Mashgullugha Salam", the "Khoshbekht Ovlad" Social Information Center, and the UNICEF representative office. Meetings were also held with non-governmental organizations such as "Berqarar Hayat", "Nihal", and "Aydin Ishiq".

The Azerbaijani delegation closely studied Uzbekistan's experiences and made pertinent observations.
