On July 21, 2022, the Office of the OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings convened its 6th meeting in an online format, focusing on "Applying a Sensitive Approach to Gender Issues in the Combating Human Trafficking." Samir Garayev, Head of the Division of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, participated in the meeting.

The meeting also included participation from Novruz Karimov and Faig Ganiyev, judges of the Baku Grave Criminal Court, and Sara Aghayeva, a representative of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.

In his opening remarks, Samir Garayev highlighted that gender equality is ensured and gender characteristics are taken into account in all activities related to combating human trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan. He also shared insights on the features of criminal prosecution conducted by the special police agency, as well as positive dynamics and achievements, during the panel discussions. The meeting was attended by representatives from Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
