On July 28, an event dedicated to the "Day of Combating Human Trafficking" was held as part of the “Counter-Trafficking in Persons Activity” project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The event was organized with the collaboration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan, and the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.

Representatives from various state institutions and non-governmental organizations attended the event. Speeches were delivered by Vugar Behbudov, Chairman of the Board of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population; Hazi Aslanov, Head of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs; and Vladimir Georgiev, Head of the International Organization for Migration in Azerbaijan. Additional speakers included Turan Jahangirova, Head of Division of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Taliya Ibrahimova, Head of the Legal Department of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs.

The event continued with panel discussions, facilitating in-depth dialogue on the topic.
