As a result of operations conducted by the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Farrukhova Aynur and Mammadova Shirin were apprehended. These suspects exploited the trust of women who are citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, transporting them to Balıkesir, Turkey, where they subjected them to sexual exploitation.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, the case materials were submitted to the Baku Grave Crimes Court for adjudication. The court found Aynur Farrukhova and Shirin Mammadova guilty under Articles 144-1.2.1, 144-1.2.2, and 144-1.2.4-1 of the Criminal Code (human trafficking) and sentenced them to three years' imprisonment.
