On June 13-14, 2022, a meeting of national coordinators on the combating human trafficking was held in Vienna, co-organized by the OSCE and the Council of Europe. The First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Police Lieutenant General Seyfulla Azimov, participated in the meeting online.

The discussion, organized jointly by the Office of the OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and the Council of Europe, saw participation from 58 countries, including member states of the Council of Europe and OSCE member states, along with cooperation partners.

Participants discussed human trafficking issues, including policy initiatives to combat technology-facilitated human trafficking, as well as actions needed to prevent and mitigate human trafficking risks stemming from the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

The first and second day of the meeting consisted of four sessions in total, moderated by Valiant Ritchie, Special Representative and Coordinator of the OSCE for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, and Petya Nestorova, Executive Secretary of the Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings: "Current Changes in the Combat Against Human Trafficking Using Technology," "Measuring Progress on the Combat Against Human Trafficking," and "Combating Human Trafficking Related to the Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine."

During the panel discussions, under the moderation of Tatiana Rudenko, Special Rapporteur on the Combating Human Trafficking and Senior Adviser of the Coordination, the following topics were discussed: positive outcomes of trainings in combating human trafficking, assessment of trainings in combating human trafficking, coordination of trainings in combating human trafficking, and necessary trainings in combating human trafficking.

The meeting was conducted in a constructive and professional manner.
