On May 20, 2021, at the initiative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Azerbaijan, an online meeting was held involving IOM's Counter-Trafficking in Persons Activity project coordinator Ersilia Apreda, project assistant Nargiz Karimova, international expert Lenja Valbona, and representatives from the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the identification of victims of human trafficking. The participants exchanged ideas and addressed the questions posed by Lenja Valbona to facilitate the preparation of the training program. Additionally, the practical results achieved by developed countries in combating human trafficking and relevant needs based on international experience were discussed.

Further discussions were held on selecting five experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to be involved in training the trainers on victim identification. The regions where these training sessions will be conducted were also identified.

The meeting was conducted in a cordial and professional manner.
